Cockett Farm is a  specialist clay shooting venue situated in Nottinghamshire.  We are a friendly, family run business offering a warm welcome to seasoned clay shooters, those just starting out or anyone that just fancies having a go.

Our History  

We were formed in 1982 by farmer Roger Collingham. Roger had been farming the land since 1960 but unfortunately, had to give up farming due to a rare illness. As a passionate game shooter since a young lad, this unforeseen illness gave the opportunity to begin a new career and the opening of Mansfield Rod & Gun - a shooting and fishing shop in Mansfield followed shortly afterwards. Customers buying guns naturally wanted somewhere to try out guns before buying and the shooting ground became a natural extension to the shop. 

Whilst a successful business in it's own right, Roger closed the shop in the mid 1980s to concentrate on running the shooting ground.   As the ground expanded so did the staff with Roger's 2nd daughter Jane coming in to help out "for a few months" in 1991.  Jane has been here ever since! As the ground continued to develop and expand Jane's husband Peter joined the team as the Ground Manager in 2008.

Initially the ground just offered Skeet & DTL but has progressively developed over the years and now also offers English Sporting, Compact Sporting, FITASC, High Skeet and ABT. 

Quality and Safety

We are an affiliated & trade member of the Clay Pigeon Shooting Association and operate in accordance with their recommended procedures.  We generally have two qualified Safety Officers and First Aiders on site and all procedures and risk assessments are regularly reviewed and updated where appropriate.

To ensure we deliver our vision of giving you an enjoyable and hassle free experience, all equipment used at the ground is premium quality from industry leaders Laporte & Bowman (traps) and Promatic (Claymate).  All machines are regularly maintained to ensure consistency of targets and to keep no birds to a minimum.
